Escentric Molecules owes its existence to an aroma-molecule that does not exist in nature. Iso E Super was created in a laboratory at IFF in 1973. Among perfumers, it is prized for its velvety, cocooning effect, addictive properties and low-lit mood. 

Escentric Molecules Escentric 03 focuses on Vetiveryl Acetate in a formula that pays tribute to the three roots used in perfumery: vetiver, ginger and orris, which is extracted from the roots of the Florentine iris. “I wanted Escentric 03 to bring out the scent impressions of these roots,” says Geza Schoen, “and show how they harmonise with each other.”

Ginger dominates the top note, which is vibrant, green and spicy with Mexican lime peel and green peppercorn. The heart is rich, velvety orris with Egyptian jasmine and soft tea notes. The dry-down emphasises the dark green woodiness of vetiver together with sandalwood, cedar, mellow balsams and musk. This original scent is a tribute to the more familiar side of vetiver: its darker, slightly exotic woodiness. The overall impression is spicy but fresh with warm balsamic undertones, like a traditional chypre. It is sensuous without sweetness, which is something of  a signature of its creator Geza Schoen.
